The Fondation Louis Vuitton presents the exhibition "Icons of Modern Art - The Shchukin Collection" from October 22nd, 2016

From October 22nd, 2016 to February 20th, 2017, the Fondation Louis Vuitton features an exhibition that pays tribute to one of the greatest art patrons of the early 20th century, Sergei Shchukin, the visionary Russian collector of French modern art, whose collection “remains little know to the general western public even today” states Anne Baldassari, curator of the exhibition. “In fact, since it was broken up in 1948 it has never been gathered as a singular and coherent artistic entity”, continues Baldassari.

Thanks to the generous contribution of the Hermitage Museum and the Pushkin Museum, the exhibition presents a significant ensemble of 130 major pieces of French modern art in dialogue with 30 works of Russian avant-garde art. Throughout his life, Shchukin collected works by impressionists, post-impressionists and modern masters including Monet, Cézanne, Gauguin, Rousseau, Derain, Matisse, Picasso, Degas, Renoir, Toulouse-Lautrec, and Van Gogh.

The Cruise campaign lands in a new territory, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

A quest for freedom and adventure on the other side of the world is what the Louis Vuitton spirit of travel is all about. Here, Alicia Vikander, the actress and star of this campaign embodies the Louis Vuitton woman.

By her side are the emblematic Twist and Capucines handbags. A new sign of discreet elegance, the Capucines, is the house’s savoir-faire incarnate, while the Twist is a modern classic designed by Nicolas Ghesquière.

Louis Vuitton presents its Cruise campaign starring Alicia Vikander.

The Cruise campaign lands in a new territory, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This location is a natural follow up to the 2017 Cruise presentation staged here last May at the exclusive Niterói Contemporary Art Museum (MAC), a landmark building in Brazil designed by celebrated Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer.

The campaign images were also shot at the MAC and on the beach, a spectacular landscape of modernist space and escapism captured by photographer Patrick Demarchelier.

Here, Alicia Vikander, the actress and star of this campaign carries the emblematic Twist and Capucines handbags.
