    • LOUIS VUITTON EXHIBITION IN TOKYO - BOOK YOUR VISIT - Louis Vuitton Heritage NEWS
Louis Vuitton will celebrate “Volez, Voguez, Voyagez – Louis Vuitton” in Tokyo from April 23rd until June 19th, 2016.

You can book your visit here.

Curated by Olivier Saillard, the exhibition retraces Louis Vuitton’s great journey from 1854 till today, through archives of the Family’s founding members to those who create the Louis Vuitton of today.

Since the end of the 19th century, the House has always maintained strong ties with Japan. From the mon (family crest) inspirations of the Monogram canvas, to the long list of renowned Japanese clients such as the political leader Taisuke Itagaki, and the collaborations with Japanese contemporary artists from Murakami to Kusama.

“Louis Vuitton has always been at the forefront of creation and innovation, today live over a century ago. Constantly taking inspiration from our past we craft the trends of today. Olivier Saillard has immersed himself in the Louis Vuitton archives to decode its secrets. He delivers a fresh vision of our past, present and future.” says Michael Burke, CEO of Louis Vuitton.

The exhibition will be held in a bespoke structure in Kojimachi, the neighbourhood in Tokyo, where in 1978 Louis Vuitton opened its first store in Japan.

  • WOMEN'S AUTUMN-WINTER 2016 SHOW: SELECTED LOOKS

A selection of the top looks and details from the Louis Vuitton show.

In a futuristic show scenography, set aside the Fondation Louis Vuitton, dynamic heroines graced the catwalk between mirror-columns, inspired from French artist Justin Morin’s artwork «Melted Bones».

Alternately showing close-ups and slow motions, this short film pays tribute to the details that make Nicolas Ghesquiere's wardrobe immediately idenfiable: leather jackets, fluid sensual dresses in scarf prints, mohair sweaters,  zip-front molded-hip jackets, gigantic pendant earrings, new bags, etc.

A closer look at selected details and season signatures from Nicolas Ghesquière’s Autumn-Winter 2016 collection, as seen from the front row.

They say that culture is what remains when everything else has been forgotten. The same goes for fashion culture. This autumn-winter collection moves through time dissolving the borders of memory. It is a wardrobe that affectionately revisits the past, invents a confident present and defines a fluid mutable future.

Photographer Tommy Ton let you take a closer look to really appreciate the details and refinement within a Louis Vuitton collection.
