A historical department store in Paris (some sources claim it to be the oldest one in the world), Le Bon Marché was a natural choice for the House to present the collaboration during Paris Fashion Week. Aside from being one of Sofia Coppola’s favorite stores in Paris, Le Bon Marché has always been ahead of its time one way or another: through its glass and steel architecture with contributions by Gustave Eiffel, or by its beginnings hosting an art gallery in its walls as early as 1875.
The collaboration with Louis Vuitton started back in 2009 when Sofia Coppola designed the iconic bag that bears her name. This season introduces new colors and a smaller version of the SC bag, the ‘BB’.
Sofia furthermore imagined ten windows to illuminate this very special project. Heart-shaped shiny balloons, glossy cherries, neon-strip and supersized peonies composed the different scenes; a way for us to discover another aspect of the cinematographer’s personality.
