After the New Classics, Louis Vuitton introduces the New Formals, an unprecedented series of four bags that redefine business style.

Masculinity evolves as time goes on, and with it so do the modern businessman’s wants and needs. This is why Louis Vuitton has reinterpreted the traditional briefcase to come up with four different designs of desirable bags fit for today’s lifestyles: the Soft Trunk Briefcase, Sac Plat Zippé, Cabas Business, and Armand Briefcase. Inspired by aesthetics introduced by Men’s Artistic Director Virgil Abloh, these four bags are now part of the Men’s Leather Goods permanent collection, remaining faithful to the spirit of the Maison while providing the modern businessman with an entirely new look.

The Soft Trunk Briefcase, a shining example of Louis Vuitton’s trunk-making tradition, has retained some of its signature details such as the lozine and metallic finishes, and shares some aesthetic codes with the New Classics range. The Sac Plat Horizontal Zippé comes in two variations, in Monogram Eclipse or Ombre Acajou, with a zip closure system that echoes the traditional Serviette briefcase, two narrow top handles, and a subtle LV signature. A daytime and evening bag in one, the Cabas Business is the line’s most multifunctional piece with both top handles and a detachable shoulder strap for a decidedly sleek and fashionable design.

Heures d'Absence: Le Parfum - Louis Vuitton Fashion NEWS
The newest fragrance to join Les Parfums Louis Vuitton Collection is Heures d'Absence, named after the original Louis Vuitton perfume launched in 1927.

At the height of the Roaring Twenties in all their creative effervescence, the Maison Louis Vuitton launched its first perfume, Heures d'Absence, named after the country home the Vuitton family acquired in the Seine-et-Marne region of France. The fragrance captured the spirit of the day and its design celebrated the new modes of transport that were then emerging. Evoking the idea of great escapes, the name could hardly fall into oblivion: it was destined to be reborn nearly a century later, though the original formula has long since been lost.

Today, Louis Vuitton's Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud has reinvented Heures d'Absence by interpreting its dreamlike name as an ode to the blossoms from Grasse that he so loves — allegorical figures of joy, love, and getaways. The new composition is that of a grand, sophisticated bouquet in a resolutely contemporary way: an exhilarating whirlwind of Jasmine from Grasse, Sambac Jasmine from China,  May Rose, and Mimosa from the Tanneron. Like the hands of a timepiece set against an infinite dial, the fragrance carries a promise of eternal renewal.

Heures d'Absence joins ten other perfumes for women: Cœur Battant, Rose des Vents, Turbulences, Dans La Peau, Attrapes-Rêves, Apogée, Contre Moi, Matière Noire, Mille Feux, and Le Jour Se Lève.
