What Product Care Services are available for our Timepieces?

Louis Vuitton timepieces are crafted in Switzerland with generational know-how that embodies the spirit of the House. Your timepiece is a living, precise instrument that functions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and therefore requires the highest levels of performance. We recommend servicing your timepiece every 3–5 years to help maintain it in optimal condition.

General Care

To prolong the life of your timepiece, please consider the following guidelines.
Timepieces may perform differently depending on the wearer’s lifestyle and frequency of use.

  • To avoid magnetization, limit exposure to magnets, mobile phones, and security scanners.
  • Protect your timepiece from external shocks, as these may affect functionality. Remove your watch during strenuous physical activities or sports (lifting heavy objects, golf, swimming, etc.).
  • Automatic Timepieces: If not worn regularly, they may require manual winding via the crown to ensure optimal performance.
  • Connected Watches: Ensure both the watch and the connected mobile device are kept up to date.

Temperature & Water Exposure

Exposure to extreme temperatures may cause slight condensation under the watch glass. This typically disappears on its own and does not affect performance. If condensation persists, please contact a Louis Vuitton boutique.

Avoid prolonged immersion in water, as well as manipulation of the crown while submerged, as this can affect performance. Avoid water contact when wearing leather or canvas straps. Water-resistance depth is indicated on the back of your timepiece; we recommend an annual check to ensure continued resistance.

Cleaning & Strap Care

  • To clean your timepiece, gently polish it with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Leather straps should not be cleaned; they naturally evolve with time and wear. Their lifespan depends on exposure to moisture and frequency of use.
  • Rubber straps may be cleaned with slightly soapy water.
  • Steel straps may be cleaned with a soft brush and soapy water to remove deposits between the links.

Store your watch in its original box or in a cool, dry place away from dust, moisture, and extreme temperatures.

Timepieces with Natural Stones

For Louis Vuitton watches adorned with natural stones, a few simple precautions are essential:

  • Avoid impacts and friction with other objects to prevent damage.
  • After each use, store your watch in its box, away from light and humidity.
  • Clean the stone only with a soft, dry cloth; do not use chemical products.
  • Avoid all contact with water, humid heat, chlorinated environments (such as showers, hammams, or swimming pools), as well as perspiration and cosmetic products including perfumes, lotions, and hydroalcoholic gels. These elements may alter the stone’s surface, tint, or luster.

Natural stones are unique in structure and history. It is normal for them to evolve slightly over time and develop a patina depending on exposure to light, air, and daily conditions—an inherent characteristic of their nature.
